Lesson 3.2 — Giving and Receiving Feedback

Good feedback is timely, specific, and focused on behaviour and impact rather than personality.

  1. Give feedback close to the event, not weeks later at a formal review.
  2. Describe the specific behaviour and its impact, not a general character judgement.
  3. Balance recognition of what’s working with honest input on what needs to change.
  4. Model receiving feedback well yourself — ask your team how you can support them better.
